MEMBERSHIP
There are five Classes of Membership: Ordinary, Associate, Junior, Life and Honorary Life.
ORDINARY MEMBERSHIP
There are five categories of Ordinary Membership; Boat Owner, Non-Boat Owner, Penultimate Owner, Classic Owner and Boat Owner, Older Boat. All five categories receive the Class Magazine GOSSIP, the UK Newsletter, discounts on gear and clothing through the 14 Online Shop, are notified of Class Events and can receive a free International 14 email address – “yourname”@gbr.i14.org. Details of the five categories are as follows:
A. Boat Owner : £50.00 : join now
Ordinary membership of the Association is a requirement for any owner of an International 14 that is registered in the UK. (See Boat Registration overleaf). Ordinary Boat Owners are entitled to TWO votes at a General Meeting or in a postal ballot - one vote for Ordinary Membership and an additional vote for the boat.
Ordinary Boat Owners include owners of New Boats (boats built or modified to the 1996 Rules), Penultimate Boats (boats built to Class Rules dated 1984 or subsequently but prior to 1996) and Classics (boats built to pre 1984 Rules). Owners of Penultimate and Classic boats may opt to pay a reduced fee and have only ONE vote – see C and D.
Joint Owners: In the case of joint owners at least one must be an Ordinary Boat Owner. The other may be either an Ordinary Joint Owner (ONE vote at a general Meeting or in a postal ballot) or an Associate Member (NO voting rights). Joint Owners have only one additional vote for the boat between them. It is up to Joint Owners to decide who will exercise the right to two votes and be registered as an Ordinary Boat Owner.
